SOAP is a daily bible reading plan. Daily bible reading is the best way to transform your mind and become more like Christ. We encourage everyone to engage in the life-changing practice of reading God’s Word. Below you’ll find monthly bookmarks with the recommended daily reading.
Take your time reading each chapter and allow God to speak to you. Look for a verse that particularly spoke to you and write it in your journal.
What do you think God is saying to you in this scripture? Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you and reveal Jesus to you. Paraphrase and write this scripture down in your own words in your journal.
Personalize what you have read, by asking yourself how it applies to your life right now. Write how this scripture can apply to you today.
This can be as simple as asking God to help you use this scripture, or it may be a greater insight on what He may be revealing to you. Remember, prayer is a two-way conversation, so be sure to listen to what God has to say and journal about it.
CANVAS has many on-ramps for you to get connected. It is up to each individual how much they will connect at CANVAS. We offer many options for Groups that are at various places and times throughout the week. We hope you take the opportunity to browse those options and engage in a group that fits you best.
If you have ever stood at church and hoped to find a familiar face; CANVAS Groups are a way to turn strangers into friends. Our hope is that you develop long-term friendships. You will also find a place where you can walk through life’s challenges and joys with a group of people who truly care about you.
CANVAS Groups follow 2 semesters with Connect Events happening during the summer months. Our semesters run September-December and February-April. When you sign up for a CANVAS Group, keep in mind that you are not committing to every week of the year.
Anything that is shared in a group setting stays there. CANVAS Groups are
meant to be a safe place where people can find support and encouragement no matter what they are going through in life.
CANVAS Groups are all streamed through myCANVAS. Signups happen online. Once you are in a Group, you will be added to that group within myCANVAS. Communication to group members will come via email through myCANVAS and if you need to contact your group, you can do so there as well.
CANVAS Groups may be asked to multiply after a period of time together (typically after 3-4 semesters together). Healthy groups are the best ingredient to grow other healthy groups. Multiplication happens by taking one healthy Group and making it into two. This allows room for up to 6 new families to join these groups; thereby extending our reach to impact more people for Christ.
Pastoral care at Canvas happens best inside of groups. When you are going through something in life and need people to come around you with meals, listening ears, help with your kids, or a shoulder to cry on, you find this happens best within Canvas Groups.
Serving as a volunteer is a great way to build relationships and grow in our faith. It gives us a new perspective and a new sense of purpose. It reminds us that God has designed us with specific gifts and talents, to be used by joining others to make a difference. Plus its fun!
Take the first step to joining a Serve Team. Come to Next Steps and learn all about how God has uniquely designed you. If you have already attended Next Steps and are looking to get further involved, there are always more opportunities.
